We're getting this error when attempting to fax: You must install a printer. This is with PaperPort v11.2 on Windows 7. The work around I found is to to to Printers/Devices Control Panel and select "Interaction Fax" as the default printer. Interaction Fax is part of our telephony suite, Interactive Intelligence. Other users do not get this error, and they all use the same software.
This work around isn't ideal because we'd like to use a different printer as the default for non-faxes.
Any suggestions?

I recently upgraded to Paperport 14. In previous versions I had the option to Print to Paperport in my Printer Box. I could 'print' documents such as emails directly to my Paperport desktop. Has this feature been eliminated in Version 14?

G'day,
I have come across a problem where if I try and stack PDF Image files (which are scanned from my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer), it causes one or more of the PDFs in the newly created stacked file to be blank.
Is this is a known bug and if so, is there a fix coming for it?
Any help appreciated.

How do you make it so the thumbnail shows a preview of the document as opposed to it saying PDF. Some documents show the preview and some do not.

As I understand it you should be able to drop and drag to Word and it should convert to text but this doesn't seem to work. I just end up with an image pasted to the Word document. Am I missing something?

OP Ult (19), with PP 14, Windows 8.1. OP install appears OK. Initial PP install produced "PaperPort has stopped working" error msg. Tried several remedies, none worked, so finally Uninstalled PP, rebooted, and Reinstalled.
Upon attempting to start PP, now getting Error Msg "PaperPort appears to be running Windows XP Compatibility... see Technote 6629"
Alas, PP is NOT running in Win XP mode - although did try manually setting it to XP Mode (& then Win 7 mode), in hopes that Setting Compatibility and then Reversing it would "Fix" the issue.
It has not.
Along the way, have tried "Repair", Run as Admin, Changing DEP settings, running the Win 8 Compatibility Test.
FWIW, systems says it is running PaperPort File Version 14.5.13205.1029, as Product Version 14.5.
OH: Also read something along lines that "certain security settings may automatically impose Windows XP Compatibility," but with no mention as to WHICH Security settings, OR what to do about it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I have a customer who got a new PC. Both old and new have Windows 7 Pro. The PC is domain-joined and up to date. PaperPort 14 is installed on both old and new.
On the old PC he was able to open PP and then double-click on a PDF and it would open in ImageView. But now ImageView opens but it's blank where the document should be. No document displays. If he right-clicks the PDF in PP and chooses Open With and selects either type of ImageView that is in the list, he gets the IV window opening but no document displaying. He can open JPG images but not PDF.
The PDF documents will open just fine in Adobe Reader.
He called PP Support and he did find that if he logs in to the PC with a local admin account, everything works fine. But with logged in with his domain account which has local admin rights, he gets the above symptoms.
Also, on the old computer when in PP and right-clicking on a PDF he used to be able to do a Save As and save the PDF with a different filename. Now on the new computer when he tries to do a Save As, he gets the error "this operation is not allowed by pdf security settings".
He's tried changing all settings he can find but nothing has helped yet. His domain account has FC of the folder storing the PDF files and all the files in it.
Also on the old PC when viewing the list of PDF files in PP they appeared as small thumbnails, now there is just a generic pdf placeholder icon.
I am not familiar with PP at all so I am hoping someone here can provide some help.

I have been using PaperPort 11 with the same scanner configuration for at least 5 years without any problems, all of a sudded now I cannot complete mulitple page scans. Regardless of how many pages there are the scan stops in the middle of the last page and returns the error code 105. After closing the scan window the resulting file only has the first page of the scan.
This is a BIG problem as I routinely scan multiple page documents, any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to read my crash logs (.dmp) from PaperPort crashing. Is there a viewer that can open these. I tried the Nirview that I use to read dmp files for Windows but it don't work.

We downgraded our network environment recently from a domain environment to a workgroup, as we no longer needed that amount of infrastructure for 3 workstations. We set up a brand new workstation to be our new "server". It's not used directly by anyone. All of our shared files (including PaperPort folders) were relocated there and the mapped drives recreated to new shares. All is good performance-wise, except PaperPort in MUCH slower in expanding out each subfolder. What took but a second before now takes a dozen or more. We have over 50,000 files in total in separate subfolders of varying sizes. Should there be some indexing performed? User profiles are brand new after the domain leave. Any other thoughts? Thank you.

I am a new user and had to have a lot of Nuance support to get PaperPort 14.5 successfully installed on my computer. As I read the "Getting Started..." document, I noticed that adding programs to the Send To bar was supposed to be done during initial installation. There are instructions on how to add more programs, but it doesn't seem to work. It would be nice to get to the functionality of Print to PaperPort on my Office programs.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

While using scanner the output image is missing the left side down the page. I cannot seem to find a reason. Nothing in the scanner or copier causing the white out of the left side. I have checked my settings and all looks the same as the original settings I had set for both the scanner and Paperport, This Dell MFC is not even a year old. Can anyone give me a few more ideas to look into, as I am at a loss. I have no idea what or when this happened. I do alot of scanning and need to fix this issue. :)

In earlier released versions Paperport worked.
But In the RTM version ( 240 ) Paperport 14 freezes and has to be killed via Task Manager.
Yes I tried Compatability Mode right off the bat.
No help.
Has anyone got it to work in Windows 10 version 240?
Biggest problem is that there is no newer version so I can't upgrade or anything.
Anyone know of another document management program similar to Paperport?

I've read that ISIS driver performance is higher than TWAIN or WIA. That's why I would like to try it out in PaperPort.
I've installed the ISIS driver, but cannot choose it from the driver selection menu in PaperPort (check mark field greyed out).
Does anyone have an idea?

Unfortunately, I would say that Dragon achieved the, apparently, impossible … This version is actually worse than the previous one! UNBELIEVABLE! There are so many bugs, I have no idea where to begin with …
Although I deinstalled version 6, and installed it again, I'm still not able to install the "Safari extension"– instead, I always get the message "An error occurred while installing the extension “Dragon”."
although it recognizes my microphone (green dot), an error message shows up, saying "microphone missing"…
A lot of commands simply don't work, like for example "hide status window", or "show guidance", etc.
also, "send email", although activated, doesn't work at all …
Not to mention that it just loves to crash …!
As someone with extreme physical limitations, I'm bound to use a dictation device such as Dragon, and I have already deleted the previous version … So, I can only hope that the developers of Dragon will do a better job in their upgrades …
While the promises have become better and better, I dare to say that the application is such has become worse and worse, with each new version …

I am unable to scan a document in Paperport 14 with Windows 7 64 Bit. I have verified the scanner works with other software on my computer. I have also reinstalled Paperort 14. How can I resolve this issue? Is there a registry cleaner for Paperport 14 that might help?
