PaperPort 14.5 froze.  I've used PaperPort for years.  I have Windows 10.  I tried several restarts and it always froze.  Since I use Paperport every day I uninstalled it to reload it.  Every time I try a reinstall  I get a Windows error of 1772 with an error message for Scan Soft PDF Create! 4 and the installation quits with  "Windows  configures ScanSoft PDF Create 4" with instructions to contact support personnel or package vendor.  Obviously that is a rediculous suggestion because I'm a consumer and not a software engineer. I have PDF Converter 4 installed.  In a panic I tried to reload my old PaperPort 12.  I got and continue to get the 1772 error and ScanSoft Create! 4 error.  I tried reinstalling earlier versions of PaperPort and got the same error.  I tried reinstalling PDF Converter 4 and get the same error.  I've tried for days to find something on the internet and lots of 1722 articles appear.  One suggestion was to do a "clean" uninstall of PaperPort. - I did that, or thought I did, and still get the 1722 error. 

I've been at this for days.  I'm assuming the 1722 error is a Windows error.  Does anyone know how to get past this 1722 error so I can reinstall 14.5 and to stop Windows making it freeze.??
